Lower Makefield Township, Bucks County, Pa.

On Saturday, June 12, 2004, a crew of firefighters from Lawrence Road Fire Co. responded with Engine 22 into Lower Makefield Township in Bucks County, Pa., to stand by at Station 80, the substation of the Yardley-Makefield Fire Co., while members of that company attended the 86th annual Bucks County Firemen’s Parade.

The Bucks County parade took place in New Britain Township, Pa., and was hosted by Chalfont Fire Co. (Stations 34, 54 and 74) in honor of its 100th anniversary.

Engine 22, commanded by Assistant Chief Gary Wasko, left for the assignment at about 8 a.m. and did not return to Station 22 until 7:30 p.m. Ff. Ryan Quill drove Engine 22 and the crew included Capt. Chris Pangaldi, Lt. Shaun Dlabik, Lt. Michael Byrd, and Ff. Matthew Farletta.

Station 80 is located at the intersection of Stoney Hill Road and Heacock Road in the western section of Lower Makefield Township. (Yardley-Makefield’s main firehouse, Station 0, is located in Yardley Borough.)

Engine 22 stood by there as part of a task force that also included Ladder 10 from Edgely Fire Co. (Bristol Township, Bucks County) and a unit from a Montgomery County, Pa., fire company.

Engine 22 did not responded to any assignments during the standby.
