| Details: Members of Lawrence Road Fire Co. took part in a training exercise that simulated a chlorine spill inside the science building on the Rider University campus. As part of the scenario, a teacher and three students were exposed after a tank of liquid chlorine ruptured. The “victims” all complained of burning eyes and respiratory problems and needed to be decontaminated. Joining Rescue 22 for the drill were Slackwood’s Snorkel 21, Lawrenceville’s Rescue 23, the Trenton Fire Department’s Hazardous Materials Task Force, Lawrence and Ewing ambulance crews, a rehab unit from Trenton Emergency Medical Service, Lawrence police, Lawrence emergency management officials, and Rider University security. The exercise lasted until about 9:30 a.m.
